Indiurex
Features & Advantages
Indiurex is classified as a loop diuretic that inhibits the excessive accumulation of salts in the blood, allowing them to be excreted in the urine; it reduces body water, decreases the reabsorption of sodium chloride (the lumen-positive potential derived from potassium recycling), lowers renal vascular resistance, and helps reduce high blood pressure, ultimately providing better control of hypertension and reducing the deadly complications associated with heart failure.
Formulation
Each tablet contains:
Furosemide 40 mg
Indications
Treatment of edema associated with congestive heart failure, pulmonary, renal and hepatic disorders; also in the treatment of renal insufficiency and severe hypercalcemia to promote urinary calcium excretion. It can be used alone for hypertension or as an adjunct to other antihypertensive agents.
Dosage & Administration
Edema: Usual dose is 40 mg once daily, adjusted as necessary according to response.
Hypertension: 40 mg to 80 mg daily, either alone or in conjunction with other antihypertensive agents.
Children: 1 to 3 mg per kg body weight daily up to a maximum of 40 mg daily, or as prescribed by the physician.
