Telmax is more effective at preventing the progression of diabetic nephropathy by improving insulin resistance and glucose intolerance, inhibiting the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), and halting the progressive renal dysfunction associated with diabetic nephropathy and hypertension. It also exhibits unique pharmacologic properties, including a longer half-life than other angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), resulting in significant and sustained reductions in blood pressure with a long terminal elimination half-life of approximately 24 hours, indicating a prolonged duration of action in the body.

Indication
It is used in the management of hypertension.
Dosage & Administration
In hypertension, telemisartan is given in an initial dose of 40 mg once daily. This may be increased, if necessary, to a maximum dose of 80 mg once daily. Lower doses should be considered in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
